About US
Zainabiya Madressa was established under the umbrella of it's parent body, the KSIMC of Milton Keynes Jamaat in 1978. The community at that time, being minute in size, envisaged the growth of it's members over the years and much gratitude is owed to those founding members for laying the foundation for growth.
The early days of the Madressa began in the late 1970's when it was being held at certain member's houses with a mere 20 students slowly growing to a bigger number requiring the use of a hired hall of Tinker's Bridge Community Hall. Students from neighbouring Bedford and Northampton flocked in to the join the Madressa. Today, the Madressa is a vibrant learning centre with a total of just under 80 students. Many have since graduated and a few have returned back to the Madressa as either teachers or assistants.
The curriculum of the Madressa is closely linked to that of the Shia Ithanasheri Madressa of Stanmore (SIM) and much support is received from Stanmore. However, lately it has gained it's self dependency and is now gaining new ground in the filed of teaching our youths by being in the forefront of introducing the new GCSE Edexcel course. With much credit to students of the first year who exceled and acheved high grades (mostly A's) in record time of 9 months lead the way to the next group, who similarly achieved higher grade (all A's) establishing a precedence of 'excellence in learing'. Today, other much larger Madressas are following by offering these courses.
The Madressa has also lately been a keen participant of the interfaith activities which has attracted interest from a wide scope of institutions, including the local police force as well as schools from within and outside of Milton Keynes. It is keen to target this field in order to extend it's propagation objectives. |
