Detailed Versions of possible formations

This page is dedicated to different types of formations that are popular on demand. After each picture of a possible formation, there will be a brief explanation about it. If you would like to contribute to this page and suggest a different formation then Click Here
Also, the players are colour coded. Thank you!

Formation Strategy 2-3-1:

This formation is mainly based on a more outfield look. As you can see, the defense section is not very tight so it allows defenders to bunch up together so the output of this is a stronger defence, which would not be easy to split. The arrows are mainly pointed inwards, towards the goalie, to create a stronger section. Moving on to the midfielders, the play a more attack and do come back defensive in some cases. For the center midfielder, he controls the center of the pitch, to stop the attacking players from striking the goal. The winged midfielders play a very balanced position, in defense as well as attack. As the arrows point downwards, they move towards the striker in situations and give the striker space and support so he doesn't loose possession. The striker plays a very basic role, to score the goal for the team.

Formation Strategy 3-2-1:

This formation is created like this because it tightens the positioning of the players, making it more difficult to penetrate the section of defense. Also, the defenders play it more in the wings of midfield when in a such situation, the right back and left back defenders can occasionally make the run towards attack, but must not loose possesion otherwise the opposition will obtain the ball and there will only bee 2 / 1 defenders left. The midfielders tend to play it more in the center of the pitch. By doing this, it allows them to move forward, to support the attackers and run back to defense. quickly to stop the movement of the opposition. The striker again has a basic but effective role to play. To move forwards and striker the goal, but on top of that he moves towards center midfield to give players support and backup.

Formation Strategy 2-2-2:

This formation is of a more complex caliber. Looking at the defensive unit, the defenders have a more complicated role to play, they must move in different directions to stop any movement by the opposition. Not only that, they must move towards center midfield in different situations to support the 2 midfield players. They must also control the defensive part of the wings for a more tighter defense. Moving on to the midfielders, they also play a more complex role in this. They must occasionally on different situations move towards attack, to give the 2 attackers more support and space. They also move towards center midfield to support incoming defenders and move just a bit back to give the opposition a harder time. Last but not least, the strikers. The role they play in this formation is critical towards the team. They most move forward quickly when a run is made or the midfielders present the ball to the strikers. On top of that, they most move towards center midfield to give support towards the wing midfielders.

Formation Strategy 2-2-1-1:

This formation presents a more strategic game of football. Starting with the defenders, the section of defence remains quite loose and would need 2 very strong defenders such as Rizwan Bandali or Kumayl Rajani. They would move towards the wings to mark strikers as well as make runs down the center of the pitch. They play quite a important role in this formation. Moving on towards the midfielders, they move around the wings of the pitch and occasionaly in some occasions meet in the D to give support to the 2 strikers, allowing to get a better advantage to score. The strikers play a straight forward role. Move forward and score. The striker behind the striker in the D only moves towards the center of the pitch in different situations if nessesary.
